dominochan: (Venom looking pretty)
I love my graveyard crew, but I hate Wednesday nights.

I'm stuck with Mark... BOTH OF THEM.

Yes, they're still here. How they managed to avoid being canned for this long is beyond me. Ah well...

I made some adjustments to my info, so now I'm proving just how big of a fighting game geek I am. XD That and I added my two state flags.

Oh, and new iconage. I needed something simple and pretty, so Venom fit the bill perfectly.

As for my situation, things are looking better. Everything will hopefully come together once I get my car and another job. I won't quit Sunset, just get a second job. So I can get the money.

With that I get the power.

And then, I get the womens.
dominochan: (kazuki)
Wow, reporting a robbery is time consuming. I had to:

-take down the description
-call our six main locations
-alert our security guards
-contact the next gaming/coin company on the list
-fill out a report and place it with the faxes from Metro

The only problem is that I forgot to get the name of the dispatcher calling me. Man I suck. XD Oh well, I gave the name of the person I called on the chainness. Hey as long as I got the main info I'm good, I hope...

So I made a sausage and mushroom lasagna yesterday after work. It still feels strange to make dinner at nine in the morning, but it kept the evening meal feel to it. I personally think it turned out awesome. I OD'ed on the mushrooms, and should use more tomato sauce next time, but the finished product was delicious. I got the recipe from a Woman's World that was laying around in the dispatch office, so I xeroxed it and altered it to my tastes. I forgot (heh heh... or FUCK ONIONS!!) the onions and nutmeg, changed out the sweet sausage for sweet turkey sausage, and used the sundried tomato-basil sauce instead of the sausage tomato sauce.

Their "light and lean" chocolate mousse I royally fucked with. Instead of the light Swiss Miss hot cocoa mix I got their Dutch Chocolate hardcore mix. It turned out interesting. I think I'll need to beat it more though. Haha beat it... And maybe try whole milk as well. Mmmm, fattening...

I really should cook more often. I love to do so, but either I'm too tired or short on funds.

Oh well, that's all I got for the Banana report today. Wait, isn't today pay day? WOOOOOOO!!
dominochan: (kazuki)
So my 10-12 hour shift begins.

I will survive dammit. I got my giant M&Ms to help me! :D

And Heather, will you still be flying back on the 13th? Or has Florida decided to play it safe until Whata-cane Alberto blows over?
dominochan: (snooker boy)
Now that loc. 29 isn't exploding, the surveillance cameras are up, and there's not 5 open calls, I can sit down and do some updating.

So we're losing two long-time people and gained one. One of the techs got canned for chewing out a dispatcher (not me. It happened while I was away) and the swing dispatcher handed in her two weeks today. So I may be covering swing until they find someone, though I will be asking to retain my grave shifts. Granted, it would be cool to go back to 4pm-12am shifts, but my days off would change, and I want to be able to hang out with the gang on Sunday nights.

In car news, I managed to find some local dealerships that have 2002-2003 Chevy Cavaliers in stock. Most of them are under $10k and have decent gas mileage. My bro used to have one of these growing up, and they seem like cool cars. I used to drive my ma's Corsica (the Seabiscuit!), but I can't find Corsicas for some reason. Anyways, the Japan trip might be put off for another year so I can finance a car instead. Time for my dad to return to Vegas once more...

I still need to practice driving. Taiki, Nanaki, would one of you guys be willing to help me out? :3
dominochan: (I can't see shit!)
Why is it that whenever I come back from vacation my work is always in chaos?

And someone gets fired? Geez...
dominochan: (snooker boy)
So my supervisor may be stranded in El Paso for a few extra days. That means I can pick up a couple of extra days of work. I won't get a break until my trip to Los Angeles, but I'll only lose two days of pay instead of four. Not too shabby if you ask me.

The problem is that I may not be able to go to Japan this year. They don't allow vacations during New Year's. I'm not giving up hope entirely, but the cash I saved up will most likely be going towards a car.

Either way, all is good in the world thus far.
dominochan: (kazuki)
So one of the guys here spoke to the supervisor on my behalf. He said I'd make an awesome tech, but what did the sup. say?

No.

Now, before we fly off the handle, I can sort of see why he wasn't too keen on me becoming a tech: the shift. The one that needs to be covered is graveyard, and he was concerned about my safety. Now granted, a female tech out at night doesn't sound kosher to them, but I've worked several years on swing and grave shifts without a problem. Personally I'd like to prove that I am capable of working the later swing and grave shifts. Hey, at least he wasn't totally revolted by the idea of me being a tech.

Oh, and Nanaki Chris: I put in a request for the 11th to the 14th off along with my usual weekend. Hopefully they'll accept it. I think I can swing the $100 ticket to Los Angeles. XD
dominochan: (initial d)
For the past couple of weeks, I've been kicking around the idea of becoming a tech at my current job. I like electronics, and one of the techs said I'd be good at it. So I'll be having a chat with their supervisor in the morning. Apparently he asked the swing dispatcher and several techs that he needs someone to replace "Stinky", one of the swing/grave techs. I'll ask to keep my current 12am-8am schedule or an occasional 6pm-2am with my mon-tues nights off.

Of course this means I'll have to work with your bro on the route, Taiki. X3 Think of how fun that will be... -_-;;

Their starting pay is around 10/hr, the same I was making when I left the Hard Rock, and they get tips from jackpot payouts. All I need is a license and a gaming card and I'm set.

What do you guys think? Everyone on my shift is encouraging me to do it, so what's the harm in at least talking with the supervisor?

Now for the personal junk: Heatherness, we have a hair appt. on the 24th @ 11am. I put you down for a cut and color just in case, but be prepared for the prices. Believe me though, they're worth the cost. :D And the electric bill is $29 this month.
dominochan: (I can't see shit!)
Initial D should not be as fun and addictive as it is.

El Taiki and I went out to Blueberry Hill, where I got me some stuffed French toast. While it was awesome, the ruling stuffed toast is still the dish I had in Canadia. Swiss cheese and jam=kickass.

I can't wait for Sunday now. Nanaki Chris and I will be house hunting for his familia. I got some good leads from my co-workers, and I'm curious as to the neighborhoods myself.

Now I am off to do some typing and... answer Taiki's bro on the damn radio. :P
dominochan: (I can't see shit!)
Update on the housing situation (or lack thereof):

I called the landfolk today, and they said the previous manager didn't enter in my last lease (that's odd since they took over before March 31st, well after she left), but they told me they had me down at $720/mo. until April 2007. So no increase in rent for me!

There will however be a $22 charge in sewage/water/trash starting June 1st. I think I can swing that.

Wow, the company keyboard needs to be cleaned. And I got some data entry to do. Yay for slow nights.
dominochan: (initial d)
My techs have been driving me nuts with the time changes tonight, so I haven't been all that productive outside of taking calls and logging them.

I have however made my choice on which manga series I'll be continuing for the time being. Not even the hotness that is Yami no Matsuei's shounen-ai can compare to Initial D. The slash in Initial D is there, but I'm really liking the suspense of the series. And Tak's an idiot.

Tak: What's an Eight-Six?

Iggy (his best friend): It's the car sitting in your driveway!!

Even I know more about cars. XD
dominochan: (snooker boy)
So far we've had two workers get into it about immigration, the possibility of more nuclear testing outside of Las Vegas, and 1-upping my techs with anime titles.

IT'S PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME PEANUT BUTTER JELLY TIME!

::cough:: anyway, onto the one day late [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive.

back when TV was awesome... )
dominochan: (snooker boy)
So I still have a job at Sunset Coin.

My co-worker wasn't mad at me at all. Instead she was concerned since I wasn't answering my cell and thought I got hit by a car or something. When I got in I explained that I had misunderstood my supervisor and took the wrong day off. My manager and supervisor know and acknowledge that it was a mistake and that I'll be more careful in the future. She fully welcomed the sour gummy worms I bought her as a make-up present. X3

And I bought Easter candy for the rest of the office. Dude, I'm becoming an office jockey. Awesome!

However my impromptu day off wasn't entirely wasted. [livejournal.com profile] taiki took me shopping. I got myself a new pair of Adidas Sambas (yay footy shoes!) and a refurbished ecks-bawks (Xbox to everyone else) along with Guilty Gear X2#Reload. Now I'll actually be able to get some practice in, but I noticed I can't pull off Venom's Dark Angel overdrive like I used to. That and I can't get the Neo Geo CD to work in the bedroom. Taiki, help meeee when you drop by Sunday. I need your tech skills to cure my joystick and Neo CD!!

Plus I got me a software kit that will let me design my own CD stickers and jewel case inserts. Tempest, I'm determined to make your DK soundtrack!

For those following the mini-epic that is "All These Things that I've Done", chapter 8 has been posted @ [livejournal.com profile] goenitzstardust. Which reminds me, I'm debating on whether or not if I should post the third and final part of the arc. The plot and theory come waaaay out of left field, and I'm almost tempted not to post. At the same time I've devoted a lot of time and beta-ing into it, so it would be a waste to delete it. What do you folks think?
dominochan: (sloth in a towel)
Due to a miscommunication, I was supposed to work today and have tonight off. Instead I took today off and had full intentions of working tonight. I got two calls from work saying otherwise.

But I called my supervisor and she understood and accepted my apology.

Silly me. X3
dominochan: (snooker boy)
To counter last night's boredom, tonight was chock full of calls for all sorts of problems. But the highlight came from a location where two people were making out in one of the dining areas. Fun.

back to phoneage and maybe some billiards later on. Those tables will taunt me NO MORE.
dominochan: (snooker boy)
You know it's a slow night at work when your last actual tech call was at 2:45am and you're seriously thinking about sinking $200 into your own pool cue.

I tell you, those pool tables at the Charlie bars are mocking me!

::goes back to cue shopping::

And you know it's slow when I'm actually posting from work.

Fun with the internet. :D

edit: Of course after I post this I get a tech call. And it gets cleared ten minutes later. Hooray efficiency, and who cares if I misspelled that.
dominochan: (sloth in a towel)
After only one month of unemployment, I have found a job in the field of dispatch.

No dress code.

No customers.

No cash handling.

I win.
dominochan: (cgaussie's This is For Science!)
A little something yanked from [livejournal.com profile] jianna and/or [livejournal.com profile] enerjak

Handwriting Analysis

What does your handwriting say about YOU?

The results of your analysis say:

You fill every waking moment with activity.
You are a shy, idealistic person who does not find it easy to have relationships, especially intimate ones.
You are affectionate, passionate, expressive, and future-oriented.
You are a talkative person, maybe even a busybody!
You enjoy life in your own way and do not depend on the opinions of others.

I personally like the last bit. And yes, that's a version of my signature. XD

And I got a call back for a dispatch job! Go me!!
dominochan: (cgaussie's This is For Science!)
So I filled out an application with a place called Zen Zone in the Aladdin. It seems like a nice place, and if I do get hired I hope they won't have a fit over my wrist tattoos. I tried calling the place via Desert Passage's hotline, and I got some chick's house. What the hell? So I'm gonna drop by before work to see if I can get an interview with the manager. And get a working phone number.

For Christmas, I definitely want FIFA 2006, Neo Geo Battle Colliseum, and a stuffed toy sloth. Yes, they make them. How kickass is that?

PS - For Digital Tempest (when she gets back online): The DoA movie trailer is out. It made me very, very sad. They didn't even bother to give Christie white hair.
dominochan: (Shingo!)
Today was a total D-Day for me.

I turned in my two weeks notice at work. So no more Hard Rock for me.

I think I'll play some FIFA 2004 before I hit the sack. Stupid sports game making me like it. XD
