Jul. 2nd, 2006 12:25 amTonight I saw what could arguably be the most beautiful thing I've ever seen.
I was waiting for the bus on Flamingo @ Decatur. It's a little cloudy out, and it began sprinkling. A sparkle in a restaurant window across the street caught my eye, the sparkle of fireworks. I padded down the corner and turned to see the Palms Hotel up the street.
They were celebrating a tad early, so the fireworks were in full swing. In the distance I saw lightning in the skies above. It wasn't just any lightning, it was Nevada's infamous purple lightning streaking across the sky. The sight of both fireworks and lightning in the same place was sublime to say the least.
Then I realized, I didn't have my camera on me.
