It was the Butterfly's fault! The butterfly's!!

I picked up The Ultimate X-Men's Paperbacks #2-6. All I need is 7 and a subscription and I am fully caught up. Tempest was right.

Magneto surrounded by butterflies is damn funny.

That scene had to be the slashiest scene in the whole book with the butterflies and Brainwashed!Magneto all "OH I LOVE YOU CHARLES! I THINK YOU'RE DOING A GOOD THING FOR OUR COMMUNITY!" Xavier/Erik slash runs amuck in those comics - especially considering that Charles left his wife and kid to follow Erik. If that doesn't scream "DO ME MAGNETO!" I don't know what does.

Yeah it definitely makes me wonder about just what kind of relationship Xavier and Magneto have.

I'm still boggled over why the comic went temporarily manga!fied just before the mini-phoenix saga.

Me: WTF?

If I'm not mistaken, the had at least three artists during that time period. I know they had two because during the time that Piotr left the time and Proteus starting causing trouble, I couldn't stand the drawing style of the person who drew them during that time because all the girls looked the same (Ororo looked like a black Jean or Jean looked like a white Ororo, pick your poison), the guys looked WAY too old and hastily drawn, and like pivotal scenes just looked messy. The only drawing I liked during that time was the drawing of Bobby "Hands off the hottie!" Monster. XD That was too cool.
