To cure tonight's boredom (yeah, it's gonna be one of those nights), here's some memeage!
thefridayfive has its usual questions, and I'll be jacking a massive survey from
saratheboring.
1) Of the various cultures, ethnicities or nationalities you belong to, which most strongly do you consider yourself?
Mexican. Though I don't look it, I'm about as close to full Mexican as anyone can get.
2) Is there a culture you cannot claim heritage from but which you feel quite close to?
Korean and Filipino. I grew up around them. I was about to say Japanese, but that's more of a love of the culture rather than being close to it.
3) What's one language you wish you knew fluently?
Any of the Romance languages.
4) If you could move anywhere in the world and be guaranteed a job, etc., where would you go?
Out of all the places I'd move, I'd go straight to... Canada. I mean I'd love to visit various other parts of the world, but Canada would be the only country I'd actually consider living in.
5) If you had a time machine, and could witness any one event without altering or disturbing it, what would you want to see?
As said before, there would be too many to choose from. XD

Now for Sarah's list of stuffs:
1. What was the first video game you have ever played?:
I remember playing Frog Bog on the Intellivision. One of the backgrounds was brown, one blue, and one pink I think. I was actually pretty good.
2. What was your first console?:
The Intellivision was the first console in the house, but the first I bought with my own money was the SNES. I saved a buttload of money, and despite my bro wanting to pay half, I pulled it off myself.
3. Have you ever visited a video game arcade?:
If we had more quality ones in Vegas, yes. In the past, definitely.
4. What was your first handheld?:
The original Gameboy. I think I still have it somewhere...
5. What was the first game you've beaten/cleared completely? (Got to the last level/got 100%/beat high score, etc.):
Damn, I think it was Contra. Wow that ending was lame, but back then it was worth the "code" to beat it.
6. Games based off of real sports: Yay or Nay?:
Yay, but only for footy.
7. Online games: Yay or Nay?:
I'm not a huge fan, so nay.
8. Do you play any Massively Multiplayer Online RPG games? (MMORPGs?):
Hahahhahahahaaa... no.
9. Do you play any virtual pet games? (Neopets, Teripets, Aftermathzone, etc.):
Not nearly as much as I used to be. Anyone want some Neopets?
10. Puzzle games and Strategy games: Yay or Nay?:
Yay and Yay, though more puzzle.
11. Do you play any RPGs?:
Does a bear shit in the woods? :3
12. Do you play any Platformer games?:
I do fancy a round of them once in a while. Mmmm Metal Slug...
13. What was the first game/console/handheld of yours that stopped working?:
My first PS1. It was barely playing any of the games. And then it got stolen. Haha suckers.
Characters/Plot
14. Do you actually care if a game has a plot or do you just play games for the gameplay?:
I prefer a balance of both. I come for the plot, and stay for the gameplay... or possibly vice versa.
15. Name a few video game characters that are your favorites.:
::cracks knuckles::
Balrog/Vega (SFII), Adon (SFA series), Billy Kane (Fatal Fury/KoF), Sie Kensou (KoF), Shingo Yabuki (KoF), Seifer Almasy (FFVIII), Irvine Kinneas (FFVIII), Blue Mary (Fatal Fury/KoF), Setzer (FFVI), Celes (FFVI), Zelos (Tales of Symphonia), Raine (Tales of Symphonia), Red XIII(FF VII), just about anyone from Rival Schools...
Seeing a pattern here? ::takes a deep breath::
Axl Low (Guilty Gear), Anji Mito (GGX), Johnny (GGX), Venom (GGX), Zato-1 (GGX), Jam Kraudoberi (GGX), Faust (GGX), Yang (SFIII), Jedah (Vampire Savior), Vivi (FFIX), Freya Crescent (FFIX), Moriya (Last Blade), Setsuna (Last Blade 2)... and that's all I can remember off the top of my head.
16. Name a few series that are your favorites:
Street Fighter, King of Fighters, Guilty Gear, Final Fantasy... love for the fighters.
17. Has a video game ever made you cry?:
No, but a few have made me go, "Damn... no way...".
And I laughed at Aerith's death scene. It was kinda like, "haha oh fuck".
18. Has a video game character annoyed you so much that you wanted him removed from the game? If so, name the character.:
I'm pretty tolerable, but Rutee from Tales of Destiny is quickly getting under my skin. OPEN YOUR DAMN MOUTH AGAIN AND MARY WILL SLAP YOU DOWN. Hopefully something will happen to make her shape up.
19. Do you "pair" or "ship" characters up with one another? (make/create/write romance involving them):
Oh definitely. I used to pair off characters just for the sake of it, but now I'm good and I do my research first. Of course that doesn't stop me from encouraging odd pairings.
20. Do you write video game fanfiction?:
Why yes, yes I do.
21. Do you draw video game fanart?:
Indeed! :D
22. Do you come up with theories on how a character came to be/what he or she would do in a situation/why he or she is moody/etc.:
Usually it's laid out for me, but I do have theories from time to time.
23. Are you a "fanboy" or "fangirl" of any character?:
Oh yeah, and I'm not ashamed to admit it.
::cues "Master and Servant" by Depeche Mode::
Boss Battles/Villains
24. Hardest Boss Battle:
Master Mold from X-Men Legends comes to mind. I didn't level up the proper abilities, so I had a bitch of a time defeating him. The second time around I kicked his ass.
And Kohryu from Last Blade 2. DUDE NEEDS TO DIE.
25. Most Frustrating Boss Battle:
Any I-no battle in Guilty Gear's story mode. She can regenerate in most of them.
26. Most Rewarding Boss Battle:
Taking out M.Bison in Street Fighter II. And I got my first endings.
27. Funnest Most Entertaining Boss Battle:
Because I'm a sick mofo, Safer Sephiroth in FF VII.
Me: He's casting Supernova. I'm gonna go to the bathroom and grab a drink.
::leaves and comes back. The spell is STILL going::
28. Most Boring Boss Battle:
The Nova Dragon in FF IX. I was armored and leveled up to the point where I could leave the game going for half an hour, not do anything, and it still couldn't kill me.
Haha lame.
29. Boss Battle that dragged out for a long, long time:
Ultimecia in FF VIII. The runner-up is Abyssion in Tales of Symphonia. Both took over 40 minutes for me to defeat.
30. Boss Battle with the coolest music:
Dark Lich from Secret of Mana. Creepy and electronic.
31. Most Surprising Boss Battle:
I gotta go with Sarah's choice of Edge's parents in FF IV. That was sad.
32. What's your all time favorite villain?:
Kefka (FFVI)=ownage.
33. What's your all time least favorite villain?:
Mithos in Tales of Symphonia. PUSSY.
34. Do you ever feel sorry for the villains?:
Usually I like the villainous types, but it's hard for me to feel sorry for Geese for dicking over Terry.
The only one I do feel kinda sorry for is Sephiroth (FFVII) and Venom (GGX). Venom's kind of a villain (as he's the current leader of the Assassins), but he's torn between his duty and his morals. Sephy just got twisted by all that crap that was written about his mother.
35. Are there any villains that seem like they should be playing for the good guys, but aren't?:
Oh yeah. Billy Kane's the only one who comes to mind at the moment. He's a bodyguard to a poweful underground figure, and while he can be pretty mean, he's not a bad guy. He's just doing his job. He'd make an awesome good guy.
36. Most malicious villain:
Out of all the bosses and villains I've faced, one of the most malicious had to have been... The dragon from Paper Mario. He friggin' eats the audience when he's near death!
37. Most surprising villain:
Abyssion from Tales of Symphonia. He comes off as this guy who wants to avenge his family by collecting the dark weapons, and he's the dick you have to fight. Jerk.

It's a tough call, so I won't choose just any one game.
42. Sequels/long series: Yay or nay?:
Yay if they keep my interest.

I'm not one for online games. :p

I've read through too much jerking off to "OMG XBOX RULEZ PS@ SUXX0RZ!!" to care.

None of those games appeal to me. BORING.
56. Have you ever thrown a controller/disc/cartridge in a fit of frustration?:
No, because that's my stuff.
57. Do you need to blow/clean certain games to get them to play?:
Not as much as I used to.
58. Have you ever played a game for so long that you missed sleep over it?:
