I should probably post more here, but the best way to see what I'm up to is to check out my tumblr:

Find me under Mama Nana!

I've been getting back into figure collecting, and that's been hurting my wallet a LOT. My collection is growing at a rapid pace, mostly consisting of Touhou and Kotobukiya's Marvel and DC bishoujo lines. Thankfully I've been making enough to cover my debt and bills.

Other than a few personal bumps, life's been slowly but surely getting back on track. My dad's officially retired, and I've been mulling over going back to school for art instead of baking. We'll see how it goes. I definitely want to at least take some art courses before I make a final decision.

Ninja Edit: Also, if you're curious about my growing collection, here's my profile at My Figure Collection /dork alert

First, a song. I KNOW you know this one. :3

I just want to give my F-list a giant hug. I'm thankful for all of you as well as the extended familia that's grown in the past couple of years. If I didn't have to work today (that's Vegas for you), I'd probably be out there cooking away at someone's house and laughing about nerdy stuff.

This day also makes me miss my actual family, since they live all so far away. I'm very thankful for them and what they've done for me. Don't worry. I'm moving closer soooon!

While at the Todd house, I managed to spend more time with TF2. I got a better understanding of the controls since the last time I played an FPS was back in... 2000. DOOM was on the PC, so I played it. XD Once I completed the tutorial, I decided to take the offline practice for a spin.

That's when I found my class calling: SNIPER. I giggle like an idiot when I pick people off with headshots. So I think I'll stick with this class for a while before learning Spy. Oh, and...

...Thanks, Dad. It's your fault I aim so well. :x
dominochan: (I drink to that!)
Happy Pater day to all the dads out there.

And remind me to kick Sprint for not allowing me to call my brother on his first evar Father's Day.

Happy Ma Day to the Mamacitas on my F-List and their moms. *many hugs and love from the Nana*

Post your answers in a comment. I'll try to answer yours... eventually.

Ze questions! )

Also, my bro just contacted me. He was stuck in Amsterdam after Iceland decided to asplode. He's now back home with his familia. He's the only guy I know who can go through something like this and still manage to squeeze out Men in Tights references in his texts.
dominochan: (yes!)
My bro just sent me his wedding photo.

He got married in city hall.

Words cannot describe how awesome that is. *wipes a tear away*
dominochan: (faust is CUTE!)
SO YES! I had a blast in Tejas. I got my fill of casual French food, Cajun, Chinese, Japanese, and everything in between.

Being in Houston again was weird in a fun way. I hung out with my dad and toured the city's comic book shops (The zoo was packed to the brim, so we couldn't get in). I managed to score a Bruno/Sticky Fingers figure, Jojo's vol. 6 & 9, Keroro vol. 18, a Santo luchador magnet, and a Hanshin Tigers Hello Kitty strap for le Todd. I also got to see the city where I grew up, and that was a bit of a mindfuck. So much had changed, yet it was still small.

And the beer... OH THE BEER! I tried so many new kinds and re-discovered my favorite stout. Dare I say it, St. Arnold's amber is superior to New Belgium's Fat Tire. Yes, it's that good. On the topic of booze, I met up with Will at a local pub that didn't even have English food. FAIL. And when I went out with my longtime friend Mary, most of Houston's bars ran out of Guinness. On St. Patrick's Day. DOUBLE FAIL. Then some guy was looking over my shoulder when I was texting Robin at the bar. TRIPLE FAIL.

This trip also reinforced my motivation to move to Austin. The traffic is a little cluttered, but still miles better than the idiot drivers in Vegas. And the feeders help me immensely. Once I'm done with my edjumacation here, I'm packing up. *Sends out massive Nana hugs to Eric, Zappa, Geoff, Kimba, and the rest of the Austin folks I met* Thank you guys for an awesome time. :3 I wish I got more pictures of everything, but that's okay. There's always next time.

NOW! RP-wise, I was just gonna ask:

Any thoughts/opinions on [livejournal.com profile] mayfield_rpg (YES I'M STILL CONSIDERING IT) and [livejournal.com profile] xi_rpg? I'm more interested in the latter since I really need a place to put my AU!Ky and possibly my AU!Venom.

I just got the call I never thought I'd get in a million years.

I'm going to be an aunt.

Happy Chocolate Day to all!

This year, Nanaki and I held up our annual tradition: buying Godiva chocolates for no good reason. For some reason, my parents called and sent me a card. That's... random. They've never done that for me previous V-days, so why now?

Very odd, indeed...

Edit: Just watched the latest Psych episode. That was a million times more entertaining than the Friday the 13th remake I was dragged to Thursday night.

It's the 31st Annual Day of Banana Birth. I gotta work, but at least I get time and a half for it.

Also, the Cheech and Chong show was AWESOOOOMMME. To top off the night, I gots me a Shiner Bock from Todd. All in all, a kickass evening.

Went to see W. Surprisingly, not a bad flick. Not worth $10, but at least a matinee.

EDIT: LOL bro got Bery Meron'd.

So I'm in Houston, stealing the dad's internets.

I won't stay on long as I plan to veg out tonight (dad and wife went to dinner with friends), but I wanted to let everyone know I made it here okay. It's raining... and this is REAL RAIN.

PS - Dad's black/white cat is like Socks, only he's giant. And has a tail.
dominochan: (Backstabber)
::hugs!::

I hope all of you had a good Christmas day.

So far, I've scored a new 8GB iPod Nano with video capability, $25 to iTunes, $100 Amex gift card, a fat kitty ornament, a new sake set with cups and a gourd-shaped pitcher from Nanaki, and a cookbook, stationary set, and some candles from co-workers.

My dad still has yet to send a present (procrastinator), but he did send a card with a cute photo he took on the front.

Anyways, I'd best be off. I gotta work today (hooray XD), but at least it's holiday pay and overtime. Take care guys, and Merry Christmas!
dominochan: (Pissed!Al Gore)
I got the random call of the day: My friend Mary back in Houston bought herself... A PIZZA PARLOR! She found this guy in the newspaper and maxed out all her credit cards to buy the place off of him. $55k later, she is running a pizza joint. I have to admit, the first thing that went through my head was, "WTF?! That came out of left field". She told me it's pretty busy at night and has several regular customers, so that's cool. I gotta call her next week so I can get the full rundown of this new pizza gig.

This week also marks what could possibly be the last days of riding the bus to and from work. That's right, a car is in my future. :D And not a moment too soon as some woman started talking to me at the bus stop... again. What is it about people that compels them to spill their guts to me?! Yes, the bus goes to Craig rd. Yes, the bus is on its way. No, I don't care what happened at your brother's house or if it's the first time you took the bus since you were a kid. I don't mind some chit chat, but dude, come on. That's a bit much.

One more night of work and then daaaaaad comes to visit! woooo!

Note to self: clean litter box before Friday and run to Lamestop to get KoF: MI2. Sorry, KoF 2006. :p
dominochan: (I can't see shit!)
Ah, who cares if I spelled that wrong. XD

So my dad gives me a buzz... at a quarter 'til six. I should enforce my "Do not call Anna at these hours" policy because I do get sick of bring woken up during the daylight hours. He did apologize and wanted to call back, but I was already up. What makes it worse is that someone always calls like five minutes after that, and it's an unknown number. I have a total of four unknown numbers stored in my cell. I'm planning to call them tomorrow (including the mystery 561 Boynton Beach number) to see why the fuck they called me.

Anyway, he's confirmed to come in the night of the 6th and gonna take me shopping on the 7th. All I need is time behind the wheel so I can get my license, but no one's offered to take me. ;__; All I need is a car and a parking lot. Pleeeaaassseeee?

Now for a slew of memes I gathered from the internets today. It includes [livejournal.com profile] thefridayfive's set of questions as well.

Woooooo Long Stuff! Yeah... )
dominochan: (initial d)
So my dad has confirmed that he will be flying down Sept. 7th-10th to help me purchase a car. Of course that means me studying and driving again is now priority. I mean I've retained most of my driving skills, but I still need time behind the wheel. I just might steal Taiki's car and drive around for a while. XD

The thought of driving again is pretty scary, as most of you in the Vegas area know that our drivers are complete idiots. Take all the bad habits from all the regions of the US and you get Vegas traffic. Granted, it's not the worst in the world (::coughLosAngelescough::), but it's pretty ass.

Now I just hope I can find a Cavalier in stock at Carmax when we go, or I'll drag my dad to Fairway Chevrolet.
